What was equally interesting was the fact that Leonard got in only as a result of an obscure rule that had never, ever come into play ever in the history of Jeopardy: …For the first time, there was a three way tie in one of the matches, with all contestants having zero in final Jeopardy. And the rules said that the next highest score in the semi-finals would be a finalist. And that was Leonard.
