OMERTÀ

Ex-coach Mike Rice fired basketballs and homophobic slurs at his players. But don't expect the school's athletes to say anything bad about him. The Daily Beast's Lizzie Crocker reports from Rutgers.

BE AFRAID, GOP

Are Republicans really going to try to damage Hillary Clinton by digging up old non-scandals no one even remembers? They'll do damage, all right, says The Daily Beast's Michael Tomasky, but not to Clinton.

CRISIS

As if things couldn't get any more tense, North Korea has reportedly moved a missile to the east coast, but South Korea says it isn't cabable of reaching the United States. Kim Jong-un also closed the border crossing at Kaesong and demanded notice of when the industrial complex's hundreds of workers from the South would leave. North Korea's state news agency again threatened to close the complex, despite that it is a key moneymaker for the country. On Wednesday the U.S. boosted its nuclear defense system against North Korea and deployed an advanced missile defense system to Guam as a precaution. And the situation keeps getting more grim, as one of North Korea's last allies, China, voiced "serious concern" Wednesday.

COLORADO

Colorado police said Wednesday that they are searching for two more suspects, both members of the white-supremacist gang the 211 Crew, in the murder of the state's prison chief and his wife. James Lohr, 47, and Thomas Guolee, 31, should both be considered armed and dangerous, and El Paso County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Kramer warned, "You don't want to underestimate these guys." Police said the main suspect is still Evan Ebel, who died in a shootout with police March 21, but they believe these two men are also involved and said they had been in contact with Ebel. They both have extensive records, and Lohr has two warrants out for his arrest in relation to a bail violation and a protection-order violation.

LOCKDOWN

An Army civilian employee was shot and killed at Fort Knox in Louisville, Kentucky, on Wednesday, leading to a temporary lockdown on the base. A spokesman for U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command said the killing was "not a random act of violence." An FBI spokesman said two agents had been dispatched to the facility to assist in the investigation, which is home to more than 40,000 military personnel, families, and civilian employees. The victim's name is being withheld for 24 hours until the family is contacted.
