Reaming out Romney -- Own it, Mitt! -- OCCUPY something else -- Daily Caller asks Politico about Daily Caller book -- Poll of the Day: Close in Colorado --Tweet of Yesterday
1.) Reaming out Romney -- Many conservatives are speaking out against what they see as an incompetent and pathetic campaign by Mitt Romney. TheDC's Alex Pappas reports:

"But aside from the recent spate in hiccups that give the media and the Democrats reason to hammer Romney on a daily basis — from his convention speech that didn’t mention Afghanistan to his quick political response to the attacks last week on American diplomats — conservatives are pointing to a larger problem: Romney, they argue, is not clearly laying out a specific rationale for why he should be president — other than that he’s not Barack Obama. 'They appear to be realizing right now what many of us having been saying for months: Not being Obama is not enough to get you elected,' said a long-time conservative operative who previously worked on a rival presidential campaign. 'You have to believe in something and give people a reason to support you rather than just oppose the other guy.'"

Can you imagine running in a down economy like this and losing to an incumbent president? If Romney doesn't shape up, he might be able to more than imagine it.
2.) Own it, Mitt!  -- Mitt Romney must own his now (in)famous 47 percent argument, argues The Daily Caller's Tucker Carlson and Neil Patel:

"The scariest effect of a tax code that passes over the bottom half of the population is what happens to that 50 percent. People tend to cherish and take care of the things they pay for and therefore own, countries included. The opposite is also true. When was the last time you changed the oil in a rental car? There will always be some who for whatever reason find themselves dependent on the charity of others. But when half the population is along for the ride, the system becomes dangerously out of balance. Things fall apart."
3.) OCCUPY something else -- Describing himself as a leader of movement that's supposed to be leaderless, Aaron Black told TheDC's Josh Peterson that he is no longer particularly enthused by the Occupy movement:

"'I hope you don’t take that the wrong way,' he said. ”I am the organizing arm of Occupy Wall Street' ... He had time to greet friends and walk around, but on the edge of [Zuccotti Park], Black told TheDC he was frustrated. 'I’m tired of this,' he said, as the clock neared midnight. 'I’m tired of them,' he said, pointing to the remaining contingent of Occupiers in the park. 'I’m tired of them,' he said, pointing to the NYPD. 'I’m tired of this whole fucking thing.'"

Let it be said, if this is truly the end of Occupy, that history will surely look back at the movement's accomplishments and see a large and radiant blank page. Congrats guys. Your movement truly was a colossal waste of time, energy and TheDC Morning would say talent if it was convinced the movement consisted of any.
4.) Daily Caller asks Politico about Daily Caller book -- Politico's Byron Tau reported for his publication that two Daily Caller reporters (really editors) are publishing a book about an "Obama lizard conspiracy." So TheDC asked Tau if he had any more info on the book:

"'You’re writing this story FOR The Daily Caller?' Tau responded when asked whether he had any further information on the ebook. 'Couldn’t you just ask your coworkers? They would know better than I would. I just pulled from the Amazon description.'"

[Eds. note: The book in question is ”The Lizard King: The Shocking Inside Account of Obama’s True Intergalactic Ambitions by an Anonymous White House Staffer," which will be released on Oct. 9. It may be the best book written in the history of man --- or at least Daily Caller history.]
5.) Poll of the Day: Close in Colorado -- CBS/NYT/Quinnipiac poll of Colorado: President Obama 48%, Mitt Romney 47%.
6.) Tweet of Yesterday --Corbin Hiar: Wha? The Daily Caller writes a post about a Politico post about two Dailer Caller editors' Obama lizard conspiracy book
