BREAKING NEWS: Economic Anxiety Ignites Global Selloff

Equity markets on both sides of the Atlantic are falling sharply as traders fret over the growth prospects for some of the world's biggest economies in light of strong headwinds. The Dow is off 141 points, or 1.1%, and the S&P 500 is 14.4 points, or 1.1%, to the downside minutes after the opening bell in New York. Selling is also heating up across Europe, where many major bourses are down more than 1% in afternoon trading there.
