MONSTERS
Scandal erupted last week in China when authorities busted an illegal tiger-eating dinner club for wealthy businessmen and government officials in Guangdong province. Apparently, reports Jake Adelstein, the forbidden practice has become popular among China's ruling class, who enjoy watching the animals die before dining on them.

Climate change is already affecting the world's oceans as well as every continent and it's going to get much worse if emissions are not curbed, say scientists in a sweeping new report by the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. The report asserts that ice caps are melting and global water supplies are being affected. Animal species, most notably fish, are moving toward the poles or going extinct. And particularly important for many island and coastal countries, the pace at which sea levels are rising is endangering coastal areas. The list of problems reads like an unending parade of misery, including rising acidity in the oceans, a threatened world food supply, and possibly mass migration and violence as a result.

CANDID CAMERA
Last month, snipers killed 53 anti-government protesters in Ukraine's capital. It was unknown who the murderers were—until now. Exclusive photos obtained by Jamie Dettmer show members of Ukraine's Alpha Team preparing inside the headquarters of the country's intelligence service.
TRAGEDY

The number of fatalities from the March 22 landslide in Washington has risen to 21, while 30 people are still missing or unaccounted for. Of the 21 confirmed dead, 15 have been identified and six are still pending official identification. According to Jason Beirmann, program manager for the Snohomish County Department of Emergency Management, "The slide hit with such force that often the rescuers are not recovering full, intact victims." As a result, body parts that can't be identified are not counted toward the death toll. Reports estimate that body parts from as many as 10 people have been found.

SUGAR HIGH
Former world heavyweight champion Vitaly Klitschko on Saturday threw his support behind billionaire candy manufacturer Petro Poroshenko, and now the popular supporter of the street protests is the favorite for Ukraine's presidency. In an exclusive interview with Anna Nemtsova, he describes his mission for his country: Take it into Europe while making peace with Putin.
