A 19-year-old suspect in the deadly Mother's Day shooting, Akein Scott, was reportedly taken into custody Wednesday night after being arrested in New Orleans' section of Eastern Woods. Scott was identified by police as the first suspect in the New Orleans shooting—which injured 17—on Monday. Authorities say the teen has a previous arrest record, including both drug and weapons charges. Initially police set a $10,000 reward for anyone offering information that could assist them in arresting Scott. Police have yet to confirm whether he was the only shooter, or worked with an accomplice.
Editor's note: An earlier version of this cheat said that 14 people were killed in the shooting. 17 were injured.
