BURNING QUESTIONS

Lots of people hit their head and see visions of angels, but what about the dark side? As it turns out, journeys to the devil's domain are more common than you might think. The Daily Beast's David Sessions on what the believers have seen—and how they've confounded religious zealots.

CRINGEWORTHY

The Bushes have been hacked! A cybercriminal going by the super-cool alias Guccifer has somehow accessed the email accounts of George H.W. Bush and family members, sparking a federal investigation after he posted the personal correspondence and photos online. The emails—some of which detail Bush Sr.'s health conditions—include home addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses for several Bushes. But perhaps most concerning for the famous family members are the photos—including one of the 88-year-old in the hospital and others Bush sent to his sister of paintings he was working on, in particular self-portraits of the former president in the shower and bathtub. A spokesman for Bush told the Houston Chronicle, "We don't comment on matters under criminal investigation."

SNOWED IN

The morning may have only brought light snow to Massachusetts, but officials are heeding meteorologists' warning: there's a storm a-comin'! Gov. Deval Patrick declared a state of emergency and issued a ban on cars on the roads beginning at 4 p.m. The storm could bring more than two feet of snow and wind speeds of up to 70 miles per hour. Tolls on the Massachusetts Turnpike will be suspended at 2 p.m. to prepare for the vehicular ban. The ban applies to all roads in the state, and violators could incur a penalty of a year in jail and a fine of $500.

HEADS UP

Apparently being secretary of State left little time for practice at the driving range. Condoleezza Rice played a memorable round of golf at Pebble Beach on Thursday, hitting a spectator in the head with an errant shot during the pro-am portion of the tournament. The golf ball struck a woman in the forehead, drawing blood. Rice quickly apologized, and her assistant took down the injured woman's phone number. "Somebody asked me, 'How did it compare to diplomacy?'" Rice said after her round of 18. "And I said, 'Well, I know how to do diplomacy. I'm not so sure about the golf course.'"
