'Skyfall'

The latest James Bond film, Skyfall, opens Friday and features a deliciously evil gay villain, played by Javier Bardem, and an older, more grizzled 007. The Daily Beast's Ramin Setoodeh and Marlow Stern debate the film's merits--and whether it's the most homoerotic Bond movie yet.

YIKES

What were they thinking? Staffers at the Securities and Exchange Commission have failed to encrypt computers containing data from stock exchanges, leaving the highly sensitive information vulnerable to cyberattacks, according to a report from Reuters. Sources familiar with the matter said that some staffers even brought the computers to a convention where hacking pros discuss the latest trends in their trade. But so far there's no evidence that any data has been breached.

NEW CABINET

With Hillary Clinton and Tim Geithner bowing out, the guessing game has begun. From State and Treasury to the Pentagon, The Daily Beast's Eleanor Clift examines the options—including Republicans.

International Symbol

While Malala Yousafzai continues to recuperate from gunshot wounds in a British hospital, over 87,000 people from around the world have been at work, nominating the young Pakistani activist for the Nobel Peace Prize. Yousafzai, 15, became internationally known when she was shot by members of the Taliban for arguing for equal education for girls in Pakistan. "A Nobel Peace Prize for Malala will send a clear message that the world is watching and will support those who stand up for the right of girls to get an education," said one of the British campaigners petitioning to award Yousafzai.

POST-ELECTION

Those days of playing nice with the president on the golf course are over. House Speaker John Boehner said raising tax rates is "unacceptable" in his first broadcast interview since the election. "Frankly, it couldn't even pass the House," Boehner told Diane Sawyer. But he said he's willing to work with Obama's proposals even if they clash with the GOP's principles. "I'm the most reasonable, responsible person here in Washington," Boehner added. "The president knows it."
