The FTC's OK of Microsoft's $8.5 billion bid to buy Skype brings the deal a step closer to completion. Once it closes, Microsoft officials will have to figure out how to mesh the Skype services with their own products and monetize the Skype services without scaring off users who are accustomed to paying little or nothing for VOIP and video calling.
