HP and Cisco, fierce competitors in the data center, find themselves in similar positions of having to reorganize businesses and pare expenses as they look to regain their footing in the industry. A week after Cisco warned that further moves--including layoffs-- were in the future, HP said it needs to shore up its struggling services unit.
