Cheat Sheet - Blame L.A. Gangs for the Border Kids

BORN IN THE USA

The U.S. may have accidentally created the border-kid crisis. Michael Daly reports tens of thousands of thugs were sent back to Honduras from Los Angeles, and their reign of terror is forcing parents to send their children to America to flee the violence.

FORESIGHT

Newly declassified documents show that the White House knew ahead of time that the British government was going to destroy hard drives belonging to The Guardian newspaper that contained NSA documents from Edward Snowden. The Guardian destroyed the data in response to threats from the U.K. government. One of the U.S. officials notified, NSA deputy director Richard Ledgett, apparently praised the move by the British government, writing in an email, "Good news, at least on this front."

CANNIBALS

Since declaring a new Islamic state, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi has said he "will conquer Rome and own the world." Instead of instilling fear in the hearts of Westerners, says Philip Jenkins, people should see the Caliphate as a sign of desperation among Islamists.

MONSTER

Ron Haskell, the man charged with murdering four children and two adults in his extended family, taped his mother to a chair a week earlier, choked, and threatened to kill her for speaking to his ex-wife. He also had a domestic abuse complaint filed against him in 2008 by his ex-wife for dragging her by the hair and repeatedly punching her in the head. "He yelled at me and twice placed his hands around my neck trying to choke me and caused me to pass out," Karla Haskell, 61, said, according to the court documents obtained by ABC News. "He told me he was going to kill me, my family and any officer who stops him."

CAPITOL COURT

Well, this is really happening. Speaker of the House John Boehner asked his chamber to authorize taking President Obama to court. The draft resolution alleges that Obama changed the Affordable Care Act, a law, without Congress voting. "No president should have the power to make laws on his or her own," Boehner said in a statement. (Obama delayed the employer mandate for insurance one year.) Next Wednesday, the House Rules Committee will hold its first hearing on the resolution, deciding whether or not to authorize a lawsuit. Earlier on Thursday, Obama addressed the GOP members calling for the suit at an event in Texas: "Really? Really? For what? You're going to sue me for doing my job?"
