NEVER ENDING
Over Easter weekend, 45 people—including six children—were shot in Chicago in a string of unrelated crimes that have one common denominator: guns. Michael Daly writes it's time President Obama focuses on the war that's earned his hometown the nickname "Chiraq."
THANKS A LOT
Russia's successful invasion of Crimea may have gotten a strong leg-up from a German defense contractor, reports Josh Rogin. Rheinmetall signed a $140 million deal to build a combat simulation center but may have been unofficially training Russian soldiers years earlier. The company defended the project even after the Crimean invasion.
GOOD RIDDANCE

The anti-Semitic mayor of Marionville, Mo., resigned Monday night after the city council voted to begin impeachment proceedings against him. Dan Clevenger said last week that he agreed with Frazier Glenn Miller that Jews are ruining the country. Miller, of course, is the alleged murderer of three people at Jewish sites outside Kansas City—as well as a former Klansman. One resident said the town should show the world it doesn't tolerate hate. Another said: "I thought we had free speech in America." Lastly, one woman said "I personally know and love a Jew," but that Goldman Sachs is ruining America.

HEARTBREAKING

It seems increasingly clear that the school students aboard the South Korean ferry that sank last week were well aware of the disaster but deferred to ship authorities and other elder figures who told them to stay below deck. Passengers were reportedly told to stay in their cabins even after many crew members abandoned ship. New evidence shows that the first signs of disaster came from an anxious teenage boy trying to get in touch with emergency services. "Save us! We're on a ship and I think it's sinking," the boy is reported saying. That boy is now among the missing.

TELL ALL
Nothing gets Hollywood's attention like a sex scandal, especially ones as disturbing as the accusations made against X-Men director Bryan Singer, writes Eboni K. Williams. Now, alleged victim Michael Egan has named three others in separate lawsuits. Will this help or hurt him in court?
