The sale of The Washington Post to Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has stunned the paper's old guard. Bob Woodward, while optimistic about Bezos, says it's "very sad." The Daily Beast's Lloyd Grove reports. Plus, Eleanor Clift on the legendary Graham family, Daniel Gross on how nothing in print media makes sense anymore, and Nina Strochlic profiles Jeff Bezos.

DANGER

The U.S. State Department on Tuesday ordered all American citizens to leave Yemen "immediately" due to security threats, and all staff in the British Embassy has already been withdrawn. "The security-threat level in Yemen is extremely high," the State Department warns. Yemeni intelligence services reportedly discovered threats from al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri urging his second-in-command to "do something." Sources told the BBC that the alleged plot would include explosives and suicide attacks against Western ambassadors and foreign embassies. Meanwhile, American drone strikes killed four militants, although it remained unclear if the strikes were related to the current threat.

JUNK SCIENCE

Why does it feel so right? For kids these days, sending dirty pics is as routine as breathing. Which kind of makes it hard to chastise Anthony Weiner, writes The Daily Beast's Lizzie Crocker.

A-FRAUD

Not exactly the way anyone wants to make their season debut. Alex Rodriguez was booed Monday night in Chicago as he came to bat in the second inning of the Yankees' game against the White Sox—his first game of the season and just hours after he was handed a 211-game suspension. He hit a shallow single to left field, earning more boos. Rodriguez is appealing his suspension and is able to play during his appeal.

tragic

A gunman armed with an automatic pistol and scope opened fire on a meeting of town supervisors in Ross Township, Pennsylvania, on Monday. He apparently shot through the wall, killing three and wounding two others. "I saw smoke and plaster flying out, blowing out through the walls," a reporter in attendance wrote. The gunman then returned to his car for a second weapon and entered the building, where he was tackled and shot by a meeting attendee.
