SCIENCE!

What if using condoms didn't just prevent disease and pregnancy, but they actually felt good, too? Scientists say it isn't a pipe dream. The Daily Beast's Winston Ross and Lizzie Crocker report.

COME ON OVER

It appears that Edward Snowden now has some options. On Friday, the presidents of Venezuela and Nicaragua separately offered the NSA leaker asylum in their countries. Snowden had sought refuge from 20 nations after fleeing the United States, and these are the first to accept him. As of now, Snowden is still rumored to be cooped up in the transit zone of a Moscow airport. President Nicolas Maduro said he was offering asylum to Snowden so that Snowden could be free of "persecution from the empire."

Violence

The fall of Morsi doesn't mean political violence in Egypt has ended. Far from it: in clashes in several cities on Friday, at least 36 people were killed and 400 injured as Morsi's supporters held a day of protests. As a consequence, the country's interim president, Adly Mansour, reportedly met for the first time with the country's army chief and interior minister on Saturday. It is the first time Mansour has worked outside of the presidential offices since he was sworn in on Thursday.  Meanwhile, Morsi's party, the Muslim Brotherhood, already tried its smear campaign against the new president, claiming Mansour is Jewish and part of an elaborate conspiracy between Israel and the U.S.

Horrific

Nigerian gunmen viciously attacked a boarding school around 3 a.m. Saturday morning, leaving at least 29 students and one teacher dead from gunshot wounds and from being burned alive. According to survivors at the hospital, dozens more escaped into the bush and have yet to be found. The gunmen are believed to belong to the radical jihadist sect Boko Haram, whose name translates to "Western education is sacrilege." Militants from Boko Haram and breakaway groups have killed more than 1,600 civilians since 2010.
