At Monday's tech conference, the company unveiled its latest version of the computer, which will feature the fastest ECC memory the company has used yet. Mac Pros will have FireWire, and the brand-new Thunderbolt 2 to allow faster data transfer speeds. Oh, and they will all be made exclusively in the U.S.—a big change from Apple's manufacturing at Foxconn plants and the recent troubles there. CEO Tim Cook also announced that Google and Microsoft will work with iCloud, a huge step for the software. iCloud will be deeply embedded in iWork, the new software suite. On Twitter, that is—the former secretary of State joined the social network Monday. The handle @HillaryClinton showed up just before noon and quickly racked up thousands of followers. In her first tweet, Clinton credited the founders of the Tumblr Texts From Hillary for "inspiration" and wrote, "I'll take it from here." Whom is she following? Four accounts to start: Bill, daughter Chelsea Clinton, CGI, and the Clinton Foundation. As for the obligatory 2016 speculation, Clinton's bio provides some fodder: "Wife, mom, lawyer, women & kids advocate, FLOAR, FLOTUS, US Senator, SecState, author, dog owner, hair icon, pantsuit aficionado, glass ceiling cracker, TBD..." Good to know that the success of Texts From Hillary hasn't gone to founder Adam Smith's head: he responded to Clinton by retweeting her first tweet, starting with "!!!!" Read it at Twitter SO LONG? 5. Hong Kong Isn't Ideal for Snowden Experts say Edward Snowden may not be able to hang out in Hong Kong for as long as he'd hoped. Snowden, who leaked top-secret documents about the National Security Agency's spying program, told The Guardian he had sought refuge there because "they have a spirited commitment to free speech and the right of political dissent." But the former British colony earned that reputation as a place where Chinese political dissidents—not runaways from other countries—fled from authorities. One former secretary of security in the region who is now a lawmaker said Hong Kong will not be a "safe harbor" for Snowden. If the U.S. asks for him to be extradited, "we would act in accordance with the law," she told The New York Times. As of midday Monday, Snowden's whereabouts were unclear.
