Cheat Sheet: Afternoon

The Front Lines

Introduced by The Daily Beast's Tina Brown as "the most extraordinary woman in the world," Hillary Clinton opened the second day of the Women in the World Summit pledging to continue the fight for women across the globe. "This is the great unfinished business of the 21st century," she said. "Let's keep telling the world that human rights are women's rights and women's rights are human rights once and for all." The Daily Beast's Eleanor Clift reports from New York's Lincoln Center. Plus, John Avlon on Hillary's good fight.

IT'S ABOUT TIME

Will Rutgers President Robert Barchi go too? Tim Pernetti is out as the school's athletic director, a source told the New Jersey Star-Ledger on Friday. The move comes three days after a video surfaced of men's basketball coach Mike Rice hurling basketballs and homophobic slurs at his players during practice. Rice was fired this week, though Pernetti had seen the video in late November, and the school president had been notified of Rice's behavior. The school has not yet confirmed Pernetti's ouster, but more than 50 faculty members had signed a letter calling for his dismissal and a futher investigation of Barchi's handling of the case.

Jobs Report

Yes, the jobs report sucked—a paltry drop of .01 percent in the unemployment rate and just 88,000 jobs added. But as everyone freaks out, including the stock markets, The Daily Beast's Daniel Gross finds some bright spots.

UM, WHAT?

Is there something in the Obamas' drinking water that is causing them to make gaffes this week? Michelle Obama said in an interview Thursday that she is a "single mother." She immediately corrected herself, saying, "Or I shouldn't say single—as a busy mother, sometimes when you've got a husband who is president, it can feel a little single. But he's there." Aw, it sounds like President Obama could help out a little bit more around the house.

Morning After

The morning-after pill will soon be available over the counter for women and girls of any age. A federal judge ruled against the Obama administration's Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, who outraged women's health advocates in 2011 when she overturned an FDA recommendation that Plan B be sold without age restrictions. U.S. District Judge Edward Korman in Brooklyn, New York, ruled that the pill should be available over the counter to anyone, instead of requiring a prescription for girls younger than 17.
