Chinese author Mo Yan will receive the Nobel Prize for Literature on Monday, December 10. His works have been inspired by stories from his home village and are not only praised but criticized as well.

Pakistani Taliban might change leadership
Pakistani military sources have said that the Pakistani Taliban are preparing to change leadership, which could mean less attacks inside Pakistan. Security experts, however, say it would not change anything.
Women
Indian village bans women from using mobile phones
A village council in India has banned all women from using mobile phones. Council members believe that the phones "debase the social atmosphere." Rights organizations have roundly condemned the decision.
Corruption
'Rule of law can end corruption in Pakistan'
Analysts say that corruption continues to go unbridled and unchecked in Pakistan as Transparency International has ranked Pakistan the 33rd most corrupt country in the world.
