Benghazi Attack

Jihadists twice set off explosives at the consulate prior to the incident that killed Ambassador Chris Stevens, and announced threats on Facebook about escalating attacks on Western targets in the run-up to the 9/11 anniversary, according to whistleblowers reaching out to House Republicans.

AWW, MITTENS

This makes a bit more sense than "self-deportation." Mitt Romney said that the estimated 1.7 million undocumented "dreamers" who were offered a two-year deferral on deportation are allowed to stay if he wins the election. Romney said he's not going to take away the visas that the immigrants have purchased. The act Obama passed lets those who are under 30 and who came to the U.S. before 16—and pose no security threat and are successful students or military vets—to apply for a two-year extension on deportation. Romney also took a jab at Obama, saying that the president's action was clearly a political move.

FLYING LOW

From loose seats to a scathing op-ed in The New York Times, American Airlines' reputation is in free fall. Daniel Gross reports that the iconic airline may not be able to survive going through bankruptcy.

WHO ARE YOU?

A judge has halted a law that required voters in Pennsylvania to show ID. While an appeal is possible, the six-month-old law won't be in effect for the presidential election. Republicans say such a law is necessary to avoid fraud, with one top official saying that it may have helped Romney win Pennsylvania. Republicans are currently behind in polls in the state, which holds 20 electoral votes.

DRUG CORRIDOR

Two border agents were shot in a southern Arizona drug-smuggling corridor, leaving one dead. The shooting happened south of Tucson at the Brian Terry Station. The FBI and the sheriff's office are searching for the assailant. The injured officer has been airlifted to a hospital.

Does Mitt Share Mormon Views on Women?

As seen on The Daily Beast, Stacey Solie is pushing for Romney to address the treatment of women as second-class citizens in the Mormon religion. John Avlon, TheRoot.com's Keli Goff, and Harry Siegel discuss why this question is only now coming to the front.
