September 25th, 2012Top Story This is the farce we've been waiting for. Packers-Seahawks ended with a worthless extra-point attempt after the scab referees initially just let both teams go back to their respective locker rooms, having awarded Seattle a game-winning touchdown as time expired. That's the play up there: a Seahawks Hail Mary with the Packers leading 12-7. Green Bay's M.D. Jennings comes down with the ball; Seattle's Golden Tate has a hand on it, too. It sure looks as if Jennings has possession, but one referee calls it a touchdown and the largely toothless review in that situation—only to determine whether the ball did not hit the ground, essentially—confirms the call. Seattle wins. The locked-out refs win bigger. |
