CHEAT SHEET
MUST READS FROM ALL OVER
WEINERGATE
1. Anthony Weiner's Spectacular Wife
Rep. Anthony Weiner, who yesterday admitted he had "inappropriate"
online communications with six women, was a playboy congressman when he
wooed Hillary Clinton's most-trusted aide, 12 years his junior, to marry
him. The Daily Beast's Lois Romano reports on the private woman who is,
so far, staying with him despite his cyber-cheating. Plus, the latest on
Weinergate.

MIDDLE EAST
2. Syria Prepares Huge Retaliation
The Syrian government has said it will act "with force" to restore
control in the northern town of Jisr al-Shughour, where it said 120
security forces were killed Monday. The source of the violence is
unclear, with a military mutiny one possible explanation. Syrian state
television said hundreds of armed gunmen took over the town, and blamed
"armed gangs" for the violence.

SCANDAL
3. Weiner Offered Porn Star PR Help: Report
When the Rep. Anthony Weiner scandal began, some media pointed to a
Twitter exchange with porn star Ginger Lee that indicated his online
conduct was less than professional. Now, TMZ says Weiner and Lee
exchanged "scores of emails" and that he both offered her PR help - a
possible ethics violation - and instructed her to lie. On June 1, he
allegedly emailed her: "The key is to have a short, thought out
statement that tackles the top line questions and then refer people back
to it. Have a couple of iterations of: 'This is silly. Like so many
others, I follow Rep. Weiner on Twitter. I don't know him and have never
met him. He briefly followed me and sent me a dm saying thank you for
the follow. That's it.'" The next day, he suggested exactly such a
statement and appears to have offered Lee PR help: "Do you need to talk
to a professional PR type person to give u advice? I can have someone on
my team call."

DEPARTURES
4. Austan Goolsbee to Resign
The White House announced Monday that Council of Economic Advisers
Chairman Austan Goolsbee will be leaving to return to teaching economics
at the University of Chicago. Goolsbee, one of President Obama's
longest-serving advisers, has been on leave for four years from the
Booth School of Business and could have lost his tenure position had he
extended further, an official said. Goolsbee served as Obama's economic
adviser on his 2004 Senate campaign and a senior economic adviser on the
2008 presidential campaign before being appointed to the Council of
Economic Advisers in September. His departure leaves Treasury Secretary
Timothy Geithner as the only senior official remaining from Obama's
initial economic team.

SCANDAL
5. Strauss-Kahn Accuser to Testify at Trial
The hotel worker who has accused former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn
of sexual assault will testify at his trial, according to The New York
Times. "She is going to come into this courthouse, get on that witness
stand and tell the world what Dominique Strauss-Kahn did to her," her
lawyers said Monday after Strauss-Kahn pleaded not guilty. His lawyers
have requested six weeks to review the prosecution's evidence.
