Acer's AR380 Starts Strong in Crowded 2U Server Space
The Acer AR380 F1 uses many of the same components used in more well-known competitors but charges significantly less or not at all while providing similar management features. The Intel-based, 2U system has 18 DIMM slots and can use either Xeon 5500 or 5600 series processors. All in all, the AR380 is a contender in the rack mount server world.

Rackmount Server Targets LAN Security Threats
Acrosser Technology announced a 1U rackmount network server that can be equipped with Intel Core 2 quad-core or dual-core processors, as well as Pentium or Celeron CPUs. The AR-R5800 offers eight gigabit Ethernet ports, two LAN bypass pairs, four USB ports, dual SATA hard disk drive (HDD) bays, and PCI Express expansion, the company says.
