CHEAT SHEET
MUST READS FROM ALL OVER

NO-FLY ZONE
1. The Horrible Libya Hypocrisies

Neocons and liberal interventionists stampeded President Obama into
imposing a no-fly zone against Libya - despite the absence of vital U.S.
interests there. Indeed, the reason why neither Obama nor his coalition
partners in Britain and France can state a coherent goal for Libya is
that none of them have any central interest in the outcome there. The
Daily Beast's Leslie H. Gelb on the hypocrisy among world leaders and
how the experts abuse historical analogies.

INTERVENTIONS
2. Stalemate Looms in Libya

After a third night of airstrikes, the U.S. is "near its goals" for the
initial strike on Libya, says The New York Times. But it is unclear what
is next. The Libyan rebels have done little to capitalize on the
support, failing to recapture Ajdabiya from Muammar Gaddafi and making a
stalemate increasingly likely. Meanwhile, President Obama finally got
around to officially notifying Congress about the military action Monday
night. Republicans in Congress are growing increasingly critical of
Obama's decision to use force in Libya.

CLOSE CALL
3. U.S. Plane Crashes in Libya

The U.S. has had its first close call in Libya: A U.S. plane crashed in
Libya Tuesday after an apparent mechanical failure. Fortunately, the
pilot was rescued by Libyan rebels. The U.S. military has confirmed the
crash of an F-15E fighter jet to The Telegraph, which first reported the
story.

English teacher who Is the first U.S. victim of the Japanese earthquake
and Tsunami. Anderson had taught for two years in Ishinomaki when the

FREEDOM
5. Lynsey Addario and Fellow Kidnapped New York Journalists Share
Stories

The Libyan government freed four New York Times journalists on Monday,
six days after they were captured - and they have provided harrowing
tales from their imprisonment. Anthony Shadid, Tyler Hicks, Lynsey
Addario and Stephen Farrell said they were covering fighting near
Ajdabiyah when their driver accidentally drove into a checkpoint manned
by Col. Muammar Gaddafi's forces. Although the guards hesitated to kill
the journalists because they are American, the soldiers still hit and
threatened them; Addario said she was punched in the face and one
soldier "was caressing my head in this sick way, this tender way, saying
'You're going to die tonight.'" The group was held in a squalid cell
and, on one night, the back of a vehicle. But even after their release,
there is still cause for concern: Their driver is still missing.
