According to All Things Digital, there's a personal angle to Barra's abrupt departure. Barra's ex-girlfriend, a fellow Google employee, is reportedly now seeing Google cofounder Sergey Brin, who recently split from his wife. It's unclear how Barra's departure could affect the growing success of Android, whose mobile operating systems hold down the largest share of the smartphone market.
