Two members of the dissident Russian feminist group and anti-Putin protesters Pussy Riot will join the fifth annual Women in the World Summit, April 3-5, at Lincoln Center. Nadya Tolokonnikova and Masha Alekhina head to New York after several tumultuous weeks in Russia including police detentions, interrogations and a public beating by Cossacks at the Sochi Winter Olympics. Tina Brown, founder of Women in the World, said: "We are thrilled to be joined by these passionate women at a time when the Ukraine ferment makes their stand against Putin ever more relevant."

The provocative activists shot to international fame after storming into a Moscow cathedral in 2012 and performing a song slamming Putin. They were imprisoned for nearly two years on charges of "hooliganism." The two women, both mothers of young children, have since described the conditions in prison as squalid with inhumane treatment and are now campaigning for penal reform via their NGO Zona Prava. Tolokonnikova and Alekhina will participate in Women in the World together with Masha Gessen, a Russian-American journalist and frequent contributor to The New York Times, who wrote the book "Words Will Break Cement: The Passion of Pussy Riot."

The summit opens with Meryl Streep, Hillary Clinton with Christine Lagarde and Ruslana, the brave Ukrainian pop singer who helped lead the protests in Maidan Square and sang night after night to the demonstrators. Other confirmed participants for this year's Women in the World Summit include: Mellody Hobson, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Ambassador Samantha Power, Diane von Furstenberg, Rashida Jones, Jehane Noujaim, Sarah Silverman, Neema Namadamu, Ken Burns, Angelique Kidjo, President Jimmy Carter, Laurene Powell Jobs, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Senator Susan Collins and many more. Tickets to the Women in the World Summit are available here, and Women in the World will be live streaming on The Daily Beast.
