After a government shutdown, angry citizens and lots of finger pointing, the Obama administration has decided to extend the deadline requiring all Americans to obtain health insurance by six weeks. The move comes after Democrats in Congress began to join the Republican chorus calling for a delay. Media coverage has intensified over the past couple weeks on the slip-ups in creating and launching healthcare.gov. Administration officials hope the delay will also allow time to fix the glitches, which caused so much anger.
