TOO REAL

Don't call it a sex tape. Porn star James Deen opens up about making a video with 'Teen Mom' star Farrah Abraham, her absurd insistence that it wasn't a publicity stunt—and why we've finally seen the death of the sex tape as a route to tabloid stardom

BIPARTISAN

The Senate beat back a Republican filibuster on gun legislation Thursday morning by a vote of 68-31, clearing the way for possible floor votes and giving the Obama administration and its allies a glimmer of hope. The Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz reports.

Bad Trip

At least two people were killed, and dozens wounded—16 critically—after a charter bus swerved off a Dallas turnpike and flipped over a concrete barrier, Thursday. 45 people, most of them elderly, were reportedly aboard the bus that was headed for an Oklahoma casino when it crashed. Police and firefighters used ladders to retrieve trapped passengers from the top of the bus, about 20 of whom were taken to nearby hospitals.

TO LIVE DELIBERATELY

Twenty-seven years ago, Christopher Knight went to live alone in the wilderness. Now he's going to live in jail. For almost three decades, Knight resided in a hut in the woods in Maine, stealing from nearby camps at nighttime to survive. After what he estimates was more than 1,000 burglaries, he was arrested last week after getting caught in the act. Since making the decision to live in the woods in 1986, Knight claims to have spoken to only one other person. He says he spent his time reading and meditating—and, you know, stealing.

WILD WEATHER

A multifaceted storm that ravaged the Midwest on Wednesday night has spawned from multiple tornadoes in Missouri and Arkansas into heavy snow headed for Minnesota on Thursday. There is a chance that the storm might reach southeastern North Dakota, which is prone to floods. Missouri's governor issued a state of emergency and called the National Guard into action after the storm left thousands in his state without electricity.

Jay Carney vs. Jay-Z

Why does Jay-Z's newest song say the White House gave him permission to travel to Cuba? Because 'nothing rhymes with Treasury,' suggested Obama press secretary Jay Carney. That's clever, C.
