Election officials declare Egyptian constitution passed
Official results in Egypt's constitutional referendum have been released by the country's supreme election committee. The committee said 63.8 percent of voters had approved the measure.

Air Bagan plane crash kills at least two in Myanmar
A Myanmar plane carrying 65 passengers has crash-landed in the eastern state of Shan, killing two people and injuring dozens more. Officials have said that an engine fire may have forced the emergency landing.

Deadly clashes near Yemen oil pipeline
At least five people have been killed in Yemen in fighting near an oil pipeline east of the capital. There has been repeated sabotage on the pipeline since the uprising against former president Ali Abdullah Saleh.

Pope Benedict XVI has delivered his traditional Urbi et Orbi Christmas message and blessing in Vatican City. In his speech he appealed for peace in Syria and other war-torn nations.
