Thai police use tear gas on protestors in Bangkok
Thai police have used tear gas on anti-government protesters in the capital Bangkok. The weekend-long protest is led by the royalist movement Pitak Siam and crowds are expected to swell up to 50,000.

Despite efforts of authorities in Pakistan to prevent attacks on Shiite religious processions over the weekend, a bomb attack has been carried out. Four children were among those killed.

Nigeria has offered a reward for information that leads to the capture of members of Boko Haram, an Islamist sect that has claimed past attacks on Christians. Nineteen members of the sect now have a price on their heads.

Dallas actor Larry Hagman dies
Television actor Larry Hagman, famed for his portrayal of unscrupulous Texas oilman J.R. Ewing in the soap opera Dallas, has died at the age of 81. His character became the cultural icon who everybody loved to hate.

Vettel claims fourth spot for title decider
Germany's Sebastian Vettel has finished fourth in qualifying for the final Formula One season finale in Brazil. Although disappointed, the driver finished four places ahead of title rival Fernando Alonso.
