What In The World Just Happened At The End Of Monday Night Football?

By Sean Newell

What In The World Just Happened At The End Of Monday Night Football? This is the farce we've been waiting for. Packers-Seahawks ended with a worthless extra-point attempt after the scab referees initially just let both teams go back to their respective locker rooms, having awarded Seattle a game-winning touchdown as time expired. That's the play up there: a Seahawks Hail Mary with the Packers leading 12-7. Green Bay's M.D. Jennings comes down with the ball; Seattle's Golden Tate has a hand on it, too. It sure looks as if Jennings has possession, but one referee calls it a touchdown and the largely toothless review in that situation—only to determine whether the ball did not hit the ground, essentially—confirms the call. Seattle wins. The locked-out refs win bigger.
