Greenspan Wanted Housing-Bubble Dissent Kept Secret

Scary stuff - the Maestro (or the "Michael Jordan of Economics") is no more...now he's more akin to the Emperor without clothes (handy for all his work done in the bathtub - true Greenspan trivia there!).

24-Hours At Walmart: A Time-Lapse Video (VIDEO)

Think of the hundreds of thousands of dollars in sales were spent by those "ants" (i.e. customers) at that Wal-Mart on that day. Then, multiply by the number of stores in the chain x 24/7/365, and wallah!, you've got the retail Goliath that is Wal-Mart today.

Oil Spill Volunteers Growing Impatient With BP

OK, I understand liability concerns as a management prof, but.....how many hours of training should you need to pick-up dead or dying fish and animals from the beach to take them to the proper facility. If you're inspired to do this as a volunteer, being told that you need hours and hours of "training" is insulting (what are they covering, BP's environmental policies???).

Oil Spill TRIPLED In Size In 3 Days (VIDEO)

The video is amazing - that should get some attention! Watch the whole thing, but the animation starts at about 1:30 in the video.

Likewise, Gov. Crist's comment that "it's not a spill, it's a flow" and labeling it as "an underground volcano of oil" puts indelible word images in people's minds that no corporate PR team can counter. All of this clearly shows that this is not just a Louisiana problem - it's a national tragedy.

Bible College President In Hot Water For Anti-Immigrant Slur

Yep, he got caught red-handed and had to fall on the media sword. Will he survive in his post, likely. But, he could join this dubious gathering in the Countdown Apology Hall of Fame:

Anti-Vitter Ad Reminds Voters Of 'Forgotten Crimes' That Nobody Could Possibly Have Forgotten (VIDEO)

One of the more effective political ads I've seen in some time. If this portends a series of ads, it could be a hit on the Web and (and effective politically, too)!

The Oil Spill From Hell - Why Your Shrimp Will Be Ever More Expensive

This is a very, very good commentary on the situation - not just with the current BP oil spill - but what led up to it and what will likely come from it. Unfortunately, as one who lives in Louisiana, like Katrina (and maybe even more - and who would have thought we would ever say that about a non-hurricane event), this oil spill is shaping up to be an ecological and economic disaster of huge proportions. Make this a must read for you and your social - and real - network (oh yeah, I forgot, it's 2010 - they're one and the same!).

and then, watch this analysis of what this will mean long-term for Louisiana's fishing industry, from people who know - those who have had 20 years to rebound from the Exxon Valdez!

Gulf Coast Oil Spill: Dead Sea Turtles, Fish Wash Ashore In Gulf (PHOTOS)

This is not looking good - and not pleasant pictures, I know (but thanks to HuffPo for posting them). Unfortunately, these dead sea turtles are likely the proverbial "canary in the cola mine" that will precede the larger impact of the oil spill on fish and wildlife. Let's hope for the best, but this unfortunate event will have impact for years and years on the ocean's ecosystem  - and that means the loss of jobs, industry, and tourism all across the Gulf Coast.
