This story begs the question: Where were the guy's friends? I think most people go to float in the water along with some friends. If so, the saying "With friends like that..."

I would bet that this guy felt really stupid after he was rescued. He was probably really sunburned but I would think he learned his lesson.

I am sure everyone at one time or another had a little too much to drink and has done something that they regretted. I am glad the man is ok and no one was hurt in his rescue. I hope he learned a good lesson and will never go to the beach again drunk or without friends to watch his back.

I think this guy really put his life in danger on purpose, knowing the consequences for his action.

This doesn't surprise me. I don't know how this doesn't happen more often. People are always drinking and tubing, which in my opinion is very dangerous. He's very lucky he was not injured and that he was rescued.

I’m just happy that this has never happened to me. We all have those stupid moments that we cant wait to forget about and I guarantee you that guy cant wait to forget about that day. He’s lucky that he got rescued. That was God watching over him.

I have to admit that I have drank while floating the river but I make sure that I don't drink "too much". Also, I have friends who are with me and we keep an eye out for each other. This is just crazy!

The waves of the water are very relaxing, and you may want to fall asleep. But who really fall asleep on top of all that water. Does droning not mean anything to you? I know for sure that I not the best swimmer in the world, I definitely not trying this one. Smart move Mr. Drunk guy. I wonder if he got a ticket.

It is a little funny to watch people get drunk, but not when they put themselves in danger like that. This could have ended up bad for this person. He should just get drunk on the beach and pass out in the sand it would be much safer.

wow... guess he decided not to use his brain that day! I bet he felt really dumb after being rescued especially since he was so drunk to have passed out.

I still do not understand how people fail to see that heavy drinking does not mix well with water sports. The individual in this story should consider himself lucky, because it could of ended badly.

I want to know the secret to this guys sleep. How do you get a mile out and not wake up. Also if he was there with anyone, and what did they realize that letting him get in the water was a great idea. Or did they think it was a good joke?

Unknown said...

He must have had one crazy of a time. I cant even begin to understand how he was able to not wake up with all those waves. But, atleast he was smart enough to have a life jacket on.

This sounds like he had an amazing time on the beach. The summer is ending now and I would love to have a story like this to tell. Hanging out on a beach, drinking with friends is my favorite thing to do, and if a funny story of one of us floating out to sea happens, that is all the better.

This guy is really crazy. Did he not think something like this would happen? It seems like no one even noticed he was gone, like if he was with a group of people.
