I was also concerned with the age of this person. I think we all know that fireworks are really dangerous but to have your arm taken off if a little more the normal accidents. I hope this person is doing well and looking up because his life has been forever changed.
Personally, I am scared to death of fireworks. They are dangerous. I think extra special caution should be taken when you know I family member has been drinking and it engaging in a dangerous activity.
This is a very sad story. I haven't played with fireworks in a long time, but I remember how care free and stupid I was with them. I am only so lucky to still have all my limbs.
After reading this, I will stick with sparklers. I really do not like to play with fireworks. I usually just watch other people do it. I think this man got lucky. It could have been a lot worse!
Dangerous! I like fireworks, but you have to be extremely careful when lighting those things. Sometime the stems on those things are very short. And for a drunk man already moving slow to be lighting one is very hazardous. I hope that he was able to save his arm and get everything operating right. I glad he’s alive and well.
You hear every year about someone being stupid with explosives and end up blowing off fingers and hands. If this guy had rigged up something big enough to blow his arm off then he was doing something that he should have not been playing with fireworks.

I actually know someone who blew a piece of his leg off playing with fireworks. He had some in his pocket and a spark flew back and lit all of the fireworks in his pocket. Not a pretty site.. so people use common sense!!
I have never understood what is so amazing about holding a firework and then throwing it right before it goes off. People should be more cautious when playing with fireworks and this is proof of that.
Seems really bad and most are wondering, "what the heck was he thinking." But we've all done stupid things. I look back on past 4th of July weekends, mostly when i was a kid, and thankfully i'm still here to tell about it. Sad but true.

I think people get caught up in the nostalgia of it all and forget they are explosive devices. I just want to know, where did they put the beer when they swapped it out for this guys arm?!
