Cheat Sheet - First Ebola Patient Coming to USA for Treatment

Read This, Skip That ....

August 01, 2014
BRACE YOURSELVES
At least one of two Americans infected with Ebola in West Africa will enter the U.S. for treatment at Emory University in Atlanta "in the next several days," reports Abby Haglage. The two remain in serious condition, and one of them has received an "experimental serum." Emory is telling nervous staff they're "prepared and ready."
OF COURSE

Just hours after a 72-hour ceasefire between Israel and Hamas was announced by Secretary of State John Kerry and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Hamas reportedly shot eight rockets and mortars at Israel, and Israeli tanks reportedly opened fire, killing at least 40 Palestinians and wounding 150, according to a Palestinian official. "Once again, Hamas and the terror organizations in Gaza have blatantly broken the cease fire to which they committed, this time before the American Secretary of State and the UN Secretary General," said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office. The Israeli Defense Forces say one of its soldiers is now feared captured, as well.

CAN OF WORMS
While it won't call CIA interrogations torture, the Senate Intelligence Committee's majority report will show new and shocking details—and it's about to drop any day now. Josh Rogin and Eli Lake report it will show abuse that is horrific, systematic, and widespread.
INSATIABLE
The hottest word on both sides of the aisle in Washington this week is "impeachment." While Republicans may claim that Democrats are obsessed with the I-word to energize their base, David Freedlander reports that the GOP's candidates are making it clear to voters: We will move to impeach Obama.
TOUGH TIMING

In an eerie quirk of fate, audio released this week shows former President Bill Clinton talking about his missed chance to get Osama bin Laden just hours before the 9/11 attacks. "And I'm just saying, you know, if I were Osama bin Laden… He's a very smart guy. I spent a lot of time thinking about him. And I nearly got him once," Clinton said. "I nearly got him," he continued. "And I could have killed him, but I would have had to destroy a little town called Kandahar in Afghanistan and kill 300 innocent women and children, and then I would have been no better than him." Clinton was speaking at a business meeting in Melbourne, Australia. The proposed strike Clinton is referring to was in December 1998, after the U.S. received intelligence that bin Laden was staying at the governor's residence in Kandahar.
