Cheat Sheet - ‘Opie & Anthony’ Fans Try to Sink Sirius

REVOLT
When Sirius XM fired Anthony Cumia for calling blacks "violent savages" on Twitter last week, they did not reckon Opie & Anthony followers would try to sink the company. Lloyd Grove reports on the fans who say Sirius hired Anthony to act this way and they'll drop their subscriptions if he isn't re-hired.

President Obama asked Congress on Tuesday for $3.7 billion in emergency funds to deal with the immigration crisis caused by tens of thousands of unaccompanied minors crossing the border from Mexico. The amount was almost twice as much as predicted. The White House says it wants to boost funding for immigration judges, aerial surveillance, border-patrol agents, and new detention facilities. Half of the money requested would be used to improve the care of children as they go through the deportation process. "We are taking steps to protect due process but also to remove these migrants more efficiently," a White House official said.

SECRET INGREDIENT
Quaker and other big food corporations are fooling Americans by hiding ungodly amounts of sugar in supposedly heart-health foods, like oatmeal and yogurt. These items are the Trojan horse foods that promote the nutritiously pleasing ingredients to conceal a whole host of junk, writes Michael Schulson.
NOT SO SMOOTH
There's nothing more sensitive than spying on a friendly country. Yet when the U.S. decided to do it to Germany, it used a low-level German intelligence official who was dumb enough to volunteer his spy services to Moscow over email. Christopher Dickey and Nadette De Visser ask: How could the Central Intelligence Agency be so stupid?
BUZZKILL

As of Tuesday, it is legal to buy marijuana in Washington state, but good luck finding a store that sells it. Although 25 shops have been licensed to sell marijuana, only five in the state are ready to do so, including just one in Seattle. Shockingly, logistics may not be the strong suit of pot-store owners. "Some were still trying to work out financing, some were waiting for permitting," said Mikhail Carpenter, spokesman for Washington's Liquor Control Board. Other stores are waiting to open until they have better supply lines established. Despite the long waits, there are still those who are determined to wait for the good stuff. Deborah Greene, a 65-year-old grandmother, is the first to buy in Seattle. "It was the first thing I wanted to do when I retired. I wanted to smoke a joint and not worry about drug testing."
