The Jobs Trailer Gives Steve Jobs the Full Hero Treatment

Our first glimpse at Ashton Kutcher as Steve Jobs was not especially inspiring. This new trailer, on the other hand, does everything it can to be inspirational: the soaring music, the underdog storyline, the quotable aphorisms. This is Steve Jobs, Epic Hero, complete with (corporate) villains to slay and a spiritual quest.

Will it work at feature length? I have my doubts. Kutcher still looks the part—and still feels rather unconvincing. And this looks like a very straightforward biopic, a genre that rarely succeeds when done this traditionally.

I will continue to hold out for the Aaron Sorkin version.
