Lenders agree to give Greece more money
International lenders have announced that Greece can expect another installment of bailout money. The decision followed a new plan to reduce the country's debt burden by 2020.

M23 rebels to stay in Goma until demands are met
Rebels in the Democratic Republic of Congo announced they would withdraw from the eastern city of Goma only if President Joseph Kabila agreed to their demands. Congo's government quickly dismissed this as a "farce."

France will vote in favor of Palestinian UN bid
France has announced that it will vote in favor of granting Palestine United Nations non-member state status. The General Assembly is set to vote on the matter later this week.

NATO scouts missile sites near Turkey-Syria border
NATO officials are in Turkey to plan a proposed Patriot missile deployment. Turkey has said putting the missiles along its border is a "purely defensive" move to protect against spill-over Syrian civil war violence.

Late Palestinian leader Arafat's remains exhumed
Forensic experts have exhumed the buried remains of the late Palestinian leader Yassar Arafat in Ramallah in the West Bank. Testing could reveal whether he was poisoned when he died eight years ago.

Google launches campaign against intellectual property bill
Google has started a massive new political campaign protesting a bill in the German parliament proposing copyright restrictions. Publishers supporting the bill have called the campaign "nasty propaganda."
Disasters
Workshop fire in Germany caused by gas leak
Officials have announced that a gas leak caused the fire that killed 14 people in a workshop for disabled people in southwestern Germany. How the gas leak occurred is still unknown.
