Intel Plans Xeon and Atom Chips for Micro Servers
Intel will use low-power Xeon "Sandy Bridge" chips and Atom processors to build products for micro servers, a category the company unveiled in 2009 to address the high-performance, low-power needs of large data centers and service providers. Intel also wants to stave off competition from ARM chips targeting the data center.
