Authorities have been investigating Silver, a Democrat who's served as speaker for more than two decades, for payments he received from a small New York law firm that focuses on real-estate tax reductions for residential and commercial properties. Silver failed to list the payments from the firm, Goldberg & Iryami, on his annual financial-disclosure filings with the state. Details of the specific charges were unclear Wednesday night, but The New York Times reported they are in connection with payments from the firm. Silver's lawyer declined to comment. Airstrikes Killed 'Half of ISIS Leaders' The U.S. ambassador to Iraq said Thursday that more than half of the ISIS leadership has been killed by American and coalition airstrikes. According to Stuart Jones, the total casualty count is more than 6,000 ISIS fighters, and more than a thousand vehicles belonging to the group. "They show ISIS's inability to supply forces inside Iraq," he said of the numbers. On Wednesday, Kurdish forces said they broke an important ISIS supply line between Iraq and Syria with the help of airstrikes.
