The host of HBO's Real Time gave his last word to Marlow Stern about the fight with with Ben Affleck over Islam. "All of knowledge is based on generalizations. No one can interview all 1.5 billion Muslims in the world," he said. "To say that it's a widespread belief in the Muslim world that death is the appropriate response to leaving the religion is just a statement of fact."

One of the two nurses who contracted Ebola while treating Thomas Eric Duncan in Dallas is going to flown to Maryland for treatment at a National Institutes of Health isolation unit. Nina Pham was the first nurse diagnosed with the virus last Sunday. The other infected nurse, Amber Vinson, was flown to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta on Wednesday. NIH and Emory are two of the four facilities in the U.S. equipped to handle Ebola. Notably, this leaves Dallas Presbyterian Hospital without any Ebola patients after being criticized for poor handling of the situation.

The New York City Office of Chief Medical Examiner released the findings of its post mortem on Joan Rivers and found that she died because oxygen was cut off to her brain during her throat procedure. Rivers was sedated with Propofol. The examiner said the lack of oxygen was a "predictable complication" from the procedure that's done under anesthesia. (It's not clear if the anesthesia or the procedure made her stop breathing.) The investigation revealed Rivers had the throat procedure to evaluate changes in her voice and to deal with acid reflux.
