BREAKING NEWS: European Equity Markets Slide, U.S. Futures Head Lower

Many exchanges across Europe are sharply to the downside amid concerns over the prospect of the eurozone heading back into a recession for the second time in three years, coupled with lingering doubts over whether Greece will be able to complete a crucial bond swap. Germany's DAX is off 1.6%, France's CAC 40 is down 1.7% and England's FTSE 100 is 1.2% to the downside. Meanwhile, in the U.S., Dow futures are pointing to a loss of nearly 100 points roughly two hours ahead of the opening bell.
