1.The Frosty Ethics Panel Weiner Could Face

If Rep. Anthony Weiner is hoping a get sympathetic hearing from his peers by "welcoming" a House Ethics Committee investigation into his bizarre email escapades with women, he will probably be sorely disappointed with the results—if he hangs on that long. Rapidly running out of goodwill among his fellow Democrats as more X-rated details emerge, Weiner could face an ethics investigation led by a committee stacked with Southern, swift-justice Christian conservatives unlikely to relate to a sexting, swearing New Yorker, and liberal Democrats who have dedicated their careers to protecting the rights of women, both in the workplace and online. 2.U.S. Ramps Up Secret Yemen Strikes

The U.S. has been intensifying airstrikes in a covert war in Yemen, U.S. officials say, in order to root out al Qaeda militants amid an expanding power vacuum. Officials said the Pentagon's Joint Special Operations Command—in close connection with the CIA—has been carrying out drone strikes since the Yemeni army was forced to pull back in its fight against al Qaeda militants and devote resources to dealing with protesters in the capital. Nancy Pelosi, says the Times, is "especially furious" and has concluded that Weiner is "too much of a problem" as she sets her sights on retaking the House in 2012. Rep. Allyson Y. Schwartz of Pennsylvania, who is leading the Democrats' 2012 recruitment efforts, called on Weiner to resign Wednesday. New York Democrats could also attempt to eliminate Weiner's congressional district.

The ICC plans to add rape to the list of war-crime charges against Muammar Gaddafi, according to chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo.
