There is a colossal battle looming at your local movie theater – and tens of thousands around the world. No, it’s not for overpriced seats or candy. Rather, it’s between two huge movies - Transformers 3 and Real Steel – that will shape how good a year 2011 will be for the global movie business.
OK, here is the big news that all you fans – and you know who you are – of movies where giant metal machines/monsters battle one another have been waiting for! We have had the official trailers released for next summer/fall’s big mano y mano battle between the two Goliath movies of colliding, smashing, crunching machines. Yes, it’s time to start placing your movie bets on the colossal battle that will take place at the box office between Transformers 3 and the new mechanistic contender, Real Steel.

My best marketing analysis is this - as T.O. (Terrell Owens) would say, “Get Your Popcorn Ready!” – these movies will make a ton of money and extract an even bigger toll on your parental wallet with all the toys, the lunchboxes, the video games, etc. Bank on it – 2011 will be the year of the fighting machines for the movie industry worldwide!
