Tony Hayward: A Tribute To Inane Remarks (VIDEO)

Natural Resources Defense Council logoImage via Wikipedia

As a resident of the Gulf Coast, we all can not emphasize how important it is to get these images out and burn them into the minds of all as to just how serious this situation is for the ecology and the economy of our entire region - from Texas to Florida. The more creative ways we can juxtapose the stunning reality with the blinders BP has on itself (and is trying to impose Soviet-style on the media) - the better. Great work NRDC! Gulf Oil Spill: Greenpeace's BP Logo Redesign Competition (PHOTOS)

Read the Article at HuffingtonPost

As a Louisiana resident, the oily pelican really resonates with all of us here. I'd hope that maybe people would start wearing pelican-related items as a sort of show of support for the whole Gulf Coast - the people and the wildlife affected (kinda this disaster's version of the yellow ribbon or flag pin). Anyone starting something like this?

Shocking NASA Image: Never-Seen-Before Southeast Oil Slick Arm

This thing keeps getting curiouser and curiouser. No matter what BP's spin (and they will be writing dissertations and books on their PR for years on how not to handle a crisis), the satellite footage is indeed shocking. BP will likely end-up standing for "Billions Paid" - but still, that won't bring back the sealife and the economy that depends on it all along the Gulf Coast - and maybe far beyond!

Gulf Oil Spill: New Underwater Footage Of Oil Leak With "Insertion Tube" -- Is It Working? (VIDEO)

Fawlty Towers series title card.Image via Wikipedia

Seeing BP's tactics to fight the oil spill have been like watching an episode of "Fawlty Towers" - who knew Basil Fawlty rose through the ranks to become a BP executive. I must say, amazing that in 2010, we (and I'm using that term loosely) don't have better technology to deal with a situation like this - especially given the catastrophic consequences.

Watch the new underwater video to see how much - or little - oil is being captured by BP's mile-long pipe:
