A high court judge in South Africa says Oscar Pistorius is not guilty of murder in the death of Reeva Steenkamp last year. Judge Thokozile Masipa made the partial announcement in a hushed courtroom Thursday as she summed up the evidence presented to the court. Masipa has yet to rule on other charges of unlawful killing, including culpable homicide. She carefully described Steenkamp's injuries and also summarized the chronology of the slaying. Masipa said at one point that the evidence of some witnesses had to be "rejected in its entirety." The former Olympian sat quietly in the courtroom as people inside and outside awaited the verdict. The defense claimed that he killed his girlfriend when he panicked after mistaking her for an intruder, shooting her through a bathroom door at their home.
