A feverishly anticipated new season premiered yesterday on Netflix. So was it any good? The Daily Beast's Marlow Stern writes on all the reason the new season was a bust—and Justin Green says why it wasn't so bad.

The Terrorist We Let Go

One of al Qaeda's top people, whose strategy continues to inspire attacks, was in CIA custody. Then he was handed over to Syria and set free, Christopher Dickey reports.

VULNERABLE

Anyone want a knockoff fighter jet? Chinese hackers gained access to top-secret military documents that detailed designs of sophisticated weapons, according to The Washington Post. More than two dozen major weapons-design systems were compromised, including crucial programs for missiles, aircrafts, ships, and missile-defense systems. The Defense Science Board, a senior advisory group composed of government and civilian experts, did not outright accuse the Chinese of stealing the designs but indicated that the hacking could be part of a larger espionage plot by the Chinese.

BFFs

Is there a cooler bromance out there than that of President Obama and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie? On Tuesday the pair toured Point Pleasant Beach, a town ravaged by Hurricane Sandy, to see the reconstruction efforts and stopped by the boardwalk to play a few arcade games. The president tried unsuccessfully to win a stuffed animal by throwing a football through a tire, but was given a teddy bear anyway. Christie got it on his first try. Obama high-fived the governor and said, "That's because he's running for office."

EVIDENCE

A Florida judge ruled Tuesday that texts Trayvon Martin sent before being fatally shot and the fact that marijuana was in his system when he died are inadmissible in George Zimmerman's trial for second-degree murder. Zimmerman, whose trial begins June 10, shot and killed the 17-year-old last year, claiming he acted in self-defense. Judge Debra S. Nelson also ruled that jurors cannot hear about Martin's knowledge of guns. Tuesday's pretrial hearing could be the last before Zimmerman's trial, and Nelson is also expected to rule on whether a state audio expert can break down a 911 call where Martin can be heard saying, in a trembling voice, "I'm begging you," while screams are heard in background, presumably Zimmerman's.
