FRAUD

Make up. Pump up. Run up. It's not the latest exercise fad. Rather, according to the Justice Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, it's the three-step process through which an 18-person ring allegedly committed a stunning $200 million credit-card fraud. The Daily Beast's Daniel Gross goes inside the year's most shocking electronic heist.

POSTPONE

Always be prepared … to delay? The Boy Scouts of America said on Wednesday that the organization is postponing making a decision on whether to admit gay members and Scout masters. They will take up the decision at their national convention in May for the organization's 1,400 voting members to decide on. The executive board had announced last week it would discuss the organization's controversial ban on admitting gays, an about-face from statements made only seven months ago. If the organization keeps the ban, it will go against two high-profile board members, Ernst & Young CEO James Turley, and AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson. President Obama has also called for the Scouts to drop the ban.

LIVEWRONG

Lance Armstrong's Tour de Redemption just hit a major speed bump. High-level sources tell ABC News that "an active criminal investigation" into the former cyclist is still very much underway. The news comes on the heels of public comments made by U.S. Attorney for Southern California AndrĂ© Birotte in a Justice Department news conference Tuesday affirming that the case he had spent two years fighting—including drug distribution, fraud, and conspiracy—would not be reopened. "Birotte does not speak for the federal government as a whole," the source said. According to the report, the fallen champion is still under investigation for "obstruction, witness tampering, and intimidation." Looks like a confessional with Oprah isn't the forgiver of all sins.

SNOW-GO

Snowblowers, start your engines. A massive winter storm racing toward New England has the potential to pound the region with more than two feet of snow, according to forecasters. Meteorologists say the storm's impact hinges on whether the cold front currently moving in from the north collides with a rainy front heading in from the south. The "near-perfect timing of an influx of cold air mixing with moisture" could mean colossal amounts of snow, in Massachusetts specifically. While it's not incredibly likely that the two fronts will collide, New Yorkers' memory of the 2010 blockbuster snowstorm that trapped all five boroughs under a foot of snow is proof enough: anything can happen.
