Cloud Computing Could Support World's Largest Telescope
Rebecca Kutzer-Rice recently wrote about the contest to house the Square Kilometer Array (SKA), which would be the world's most sensitive radio telescope once it is completed later this decade. She noted that the project will require exaflop-capable supercomputers to analyze the huge amounts of information gathered by the telescope and that Australia has proposed a cloud-computing solution to store and process data collected by the telescope.
