CHEAT SHEET
MUST READS FROM ALL OVER

DECISION TIME
1. Fox News Pushes Mike Huckabee on 2012

Fox News wants a yes or no on whether governor-turned-TV host Mike
Huckabee is running for the White House - and has planned a meeting with
him in the near future to discuss the matter. But Huckabee tells The
Daily Beast's Howard Kurtz he feels no pressure at all. "Fox has been
very understanding," Huckabee says. A Fox insider counters: "It's
getting uncomfortable."

2. General Petraeus to Take Over CIA

The Associated Press is reporting that President Obama will nominate
General David Petraeus to take over the CIA. The CIA's current director,
Leon Panetta, will move to the Pentagon and take over as Secretary of
Defense from Robert Gates. Petraeus is currently the commander of U.S.
forces in Afghanistan.

RAMPAGE
3. Afghan Officer Kills NATO Troops

A military officer in the Afghan Air Force opened fire on NATO troops at
Kabul Airport, killing six American service members, Al Jazeera reports.
The officer opened fire after an argument with foreign troops and was
killed in the shootout. The Taliban has claimed responsibility for the
attack, saying the gunman was impersonating an officer. Authorities,
however, have not confirmed a connection to the Taliban.

VIOLENT WEATHER
4. At Least 10 Dead in Central U.S. Storms

Severe storms through the Midwest and Southern U.S. left at least 10
people dead on Tuesday and the region is bracing for a second set of
storms. Faced with a desperate situation and more rain expected soon,
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is considering a controversial plan,
used only once before in 1920, that would flood more than 130,000 acres
of Missouri farmland to save towns near the intersection of the Ohio and
Mississippi rivers. The weather pattern varied throughout the region -
with heavy rainfall in Missouri, tornadoes in Arkansas, and a severe
drought in Texas. If the rains continue, meteorologists predict the
Mississippi River will crest at more than 60 feet next month, surpassing
the record 56.6 inches in 1927. Nine people were killed in Arkansas when
a severe tornado burst through the town of Vilonia in the central part
of the state, just north of Little Rock.

MIDDLE EAST
5. Egypt-Israel Pipeline Attacked

A natural-gas pipeline from Egypt to Israel and Jordan was attacked in
North Sinai by an armed gang Wednesday, causing a huge explosion and
forcing the pipeline to shut down. The area, 30 miles from the Israeli
border, was evacuated. The pipeline is a frequent target; a February 5
attack during the uprising against Hosni Mubarak forced a monthlong
shutdown. It is unclear if the attack was meant to target Israel, but
Israel has said it's "a problem we're going to live with for a very long
time" and is looking to develop its own gas reserves. Either way, the
attack figures to be most harmful to Jordan, which relies on Egyptian
gas for 80 percent of its electricity.
