Unemployment Rate Drops
The Labor Department said the unemployment rate dropped. Yay! Hurray! Well, not exactly. the Labor Department is full of s*** and its numbers are bogus. For more on this subject, go here.
The Challenger
The space shuttle broke apart (despite the appearance on video, it did not actually explode) 25 years ago. It was a triumph of management over engineering knowhow. The engineers said it was dangerous because it was too cold. Managers decided to launch anyway. Oops.
Cold
I live in Central Texas. We don't do snow and cold winters. We watch them on television. This morning when I got up it was 20 degrees. I had to beat on the exterior screen to break it loose from the ice in order to go get the newspaper. This is a breakdown of the natural order of things. It needs to stop at once.
